Changing my route makes it advisable that I also change my boat. The much shorter route via Cape Horn means that I now can carry fruit. To create a place to put the fruit I have made the foot end of my bed more narrow. Before it was 80 cm vide, now it is 60 cm vide. Ample place for just myself.
The stovage in the sides gets plenty of volyme.
But, but, the space below the bed gets less.
There is still place for the plastic jerry cans under my head but but as the gets nearer my feet the now have less space.
To fix the problem I boil water and fill the cans. This makes them softer. I squese them into their place and let them cool. They take a new shape better conforming and fit to the space avaible.
This process I might have to repeat a few times.
Luckily the 3 water boilers was cheap € 10 each.
