Originally the plan was to sail to NZ eastabout south of Africa and Australia. however after much thinking a new plan Falkland Islands Cape Horn and a landfall in southern Chile was decided on.
The ordered sea chart for the possible places in Chile have arrived.
With the help of Peter it is now pinned in the corridor for me to see every day and get inspiration.
Peter is a memeber of the Home Guard preparing to help defend our country against invaders.

Sven Yrvind

Hi My name is Sven Yrvind. I design, build and cruise small boats. 1962 I left Sweden in 15 feet converted Blekingseka. I soon found out that there was room for improvement. To understand the basic I began to study mathematics and engenering. 1968 I sailed to England via many contries in a converted 13 feet rowing boat. People told me I be more happy on a bigger boat. November that year I found a wreck an old steam launch build 1885 I converted her to a staysail schooner and sailed her to Rio de Janeiro. That voyage advised me that a bigger boat do not bring happiness, happiness is an inside thing. I designed a 6 meter doubble ender built her in my mother basement. Tried to sail around Cape Horn with her but was capsized and pitchpoled. Later I built an 5.9 meter boat in her I rounded Cape Horn in the southern winter June 1980. I have continued to design, build, and cruise small boats often in high latitudes. Please support me on my donation button on my site yrvind.com
