6 July 2022. Rope being glued on by help of cable ties. Big hatch twice around for better grip
July 06, 2022 by Sven Yrvind | Language: EN Play Time: 00:02:09 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

Three reasons for the rope.
It gives the edge a bigger radius making it smother and thuse more kind to the canvas.
The flange on the coaming makes a very good handhold. On the big coaming I put the rope twice around to get an even better grip. Handhold good for any angle of heel is important for a boat that is intended to leave the workshop.
The third reason not so important is strenght.
Sure it is strong enough to hold the canvas but in a pitch pole I may get thrown around a hit the coaming and if it is not strong enough damage it. Not very likely but it makes me feel good to have a strong boat as my friend.
