In general, not only on boats there is a fight for the same place. Things interfere with each other.
Here I solved it by making a grove below the solar panels for the oar. Its a good place for it much more better than on the previus boat.
A bounus is that the for oar loom or handle dubbles as a lifeline when the oar is stoved. There will two oars one one each side and I can sit on the fore deck leaning against the deck house with an oar loom on each side.
I think I can get aboat 1.7 square meter of solar panels.
That will give so much power that I think that the my boat can be propelled by just solar power.
Leaving Madeira an electric outboard on a small RIB towed me out of the harbour.
We are now using 175 Watts the Captain of the RIB shouted there were two people onboard.
I think solar power propulsion is a matter of scale, the Gallelei square/cube law that says that surfaces increases with the square of the scale and displacement with the cube of the scale.
There is much talk of big cargo ship powered by wind. Also that I think is ompossible due to the scale law.
There is a lot of development in batteries, solar panels and electric engines.
I keep my eys open for a good electric motor, but not one with lithium batteries as they scares me. One fire and I am dead.
