30 May 2024 Done, the outside glass in NM epoxy
Hello friends, this is Sven Irvind and now everything, the whole boat is covered with the glass fibre on the outside.
So, it’s a good thing. Here in the back, and then on the other side is the front. So, and up here inside is a bit dodgy, but in the cell, and there are many layers – I don’t know, maybe seven layers of glass fibre on top of each other.
Here at the critical point if I run into rocks it shouldn’t be too bad because if you explore unknown places there’s no shot about it. Like on Fan Islands when I was there cruising on the northern coast on the map it says the coast is reported to lie 11 miles further north but I guess that was 1980 so time has changed, but anyway in all these small places there are rocks and this are interesting places.
Strong with Fibreglass
So here I try to make it strong and now the whole boat is covered with the glass fibre on the outside.

Hi My name is Sven Yrvind. I design, build and cruise small boats. 1962 I left Sweden in 15 feet converted Blekingseka. I soon found out that there was room for improvement. To understand the basic I began to study mathematics and engenering. 1968 I sailed to England via many contries in a converted 13 feet rowing boat. People told me I be more happy on a bigger boat. November that year I found a wreck an old steam launch build 1885 I converted her to a staysail schooner and sailed her to Rio de Janeiro. That voyage advised me that a bigger boat do not bring happiness, happiness is an inside thing. I designed a 6 meter doubble ender built her in my mother basement. Tried to sail around Cape Horn with her but was capsized and pitchpoled. Later I built an 5.9 meter boat in her I rounded Cape Horn in the southern winter June 1980.
