Sven Yrvind’s boat construction journey continues with an update on his glass work. In this episode, he discusses the thickness of the glass and evaluates various options before deciding to use 7mm-thick glass.
Yrvind notes that his friend Peter has been instrumental in their progress, providing valuable assistance for a full day of work.
The front part of the glass work is nearly done, with only minor adjustments remaining. Sven shares that he plans to increase his production speed by working on both sides simultaneously, hoping for a successful outcome.
The back glass section of the boat is now completed. Sven highlights his process, which involves careful craftsmanship and attention to detail.
He mentions having made a particular piece beforehand and has even replicated it in the rear section for uniformity and strength. The front and back parts are described as very good, showcasing Yrvind’s expertise and dedication to quality construction.
Looking ahead, Sven plans to tackle the ‘transom’ or ‘front transom’ in the next stages of his project. The word is used cautiously here and requires further clarification. This seems to imply an essential step in the overall construction process for which he expresses anticipation for the results.
Sven acknowledges that their progress has been possible thanks to hard work and collaborative efforts with Peter. Despite reaching several milestones, they still have more tasks ahead to finalize this project successfully. Through this video series, Yrvind offers insight into the intricate world of boat making and glass integration in unique ways.
