19 June 2022 Secound fairing and a big change.
Today I have been longboarding and applying a secound layer of fairing compound.
Also a big change, a new idea for anchor and sea anchor. The aft hawse havse pipe is gone. I have to plug the hole.
The main reason for the hawse pipe was the it eliminated the need to drag the the anchor rope and chain over the hatch coaming.
Somehove I got the idea of bringing the whole drum winch up on deck and fasten it there. That would save the coaming.
Then I found a ratchet I bought many years ago in the 1980-s. It is intended for looms and made of aluminum.
The plan is that the founder will arrive on thursday.
Why not ask him if can make one in bronze? I said quitly to myself.
With the drum winch up on deck water can drip from it making it dryer before bringing the whole thing inside.
The boat is now upside down. Maybee the hatch will be to small to bring it up.
We will see but it is worth a try. Much would be gained if it works.

Hi My name is Sven Yrvind. I design, build and cruise small boats. 1962 I left Sweden in 15 feet converted Blekingseka. I soon found out that there was room for improvement. To understand the basic I began to study mathematics and engenering. 1968 I sailed to England via many contries in a converted 13 feet rowing boat. People told me I be more happy on a bigger boat. November that year I found a wreck an old steam launch build 1885 I converted her to a staysail schooner and sailed her to Rio de Janeiro. That voyage advised me that a bigger boat do not bring happiness, happiness is an inside thing. I designed a 6 meter doubble ender built her in my mother basement. Tried to sail around Cape Horn with her but was capsized and pitchpoled. Later I built an 5.9 meter boat in her I rounded Cape Horn in the southern winter June 1980.
