Hello friends, now it’s time to start scarifying the sides of the hull. Here it will be like 6 M and here is that thing I want another one. This one is going to be put there.

The Beginning of a New Boat

So, this is the start of a new boat, the Oceanic Philosopher, and it’s May 14th. The backbone is down, and that’s right here. This is one of the first pieces going on.

You see, just one month ago on April 14th, I decided to get rid of the other X legs and start building this boat from scratch.

IR is Ready

So now it’s IR, which has been prepared for another scarfing session. Here is the first one, 6 M ply should be enough.

Hi My name is Sven Yrvind. I design, build and cruise small boats. 1962 I left Sweden in 15 feet converted Blekingseka. I soon found out that there was room for improvement. To understand the basic I began to study mathematics and engenering. 1968 I sailed to England via many contries in a converted 13 feet rowing boat. People told me I be more happy on a bigger boat. November that year I found a wreck an old steam launch build 1885 I converted her to a staysail schooner and sailed her to Rio de Janeiro. That voyage advised me that a bigger boat do not bring happiness, happiness is an inside thing. I designed a 6 meter doubble ender built her in my mother basement. Tried to sail around Cape Horn with her but was capsized and pitchpoled. Later I built an 5.9 meter boat in her I rounded Cape Horn in the southern winter June 1980. I have continued to design, build, and cruise small boats often in high latitudes. Please support me on my donation button on my site yrvind.com
