Hello friends! This is IR wind and today, Oceanic Philosopher is back to discuss an exciting experiment we’re working on – testing the range of our boat using only 100 liters of water.
In this video, Sven explains his plan to find out how far he can travel using just 100 liters of water aboard the boat. This ambitious goal has us all intrigued and eager to see the results of his upcoming test.
To better understand the feasibility of this plan, Sven has created a full-scale mockup of the boat’s interior. One key aspect of the mockup is its four 40 amp batteries located on each side, with additional storage for water canisters below the bed.
The mockup showcases a clever use of space, with five and a half liter containers in the dining room area and 12 additional bottles under the bed. In total, Sven estimates he will have 127.5 liters of water for his journey.
To calculate potential range, he assumes that each liter provides 60 miles of travel. With these calculations, he predicts a new range of approximately 7,650 miles. However, it’s important to note that real-world testing will determine the true extent of this distance.
In addition to calculating potential distances, Sven discusses his plans for an extended test sail. By pushing the boat to its limits with just 100 liters of water, he hopes to discover if this strategy will work in practice.
Sven’s innovative approach and meticulous calculations have us eagerly anticipating the results of this bold experiment. Stay tuned as we embark on this journey together and find out how far 100 liters of water can take him!
In addition to the water storage, Sven also mentions additional lockers and storage spaces throughout the boat. These lockers will provide ample room for other items he may need during his long-distance sail.
We’re excited to see how this test goes and if Sven’s ambitious goal becomes a reality. Keep an eye out for updates on his journey!
