Episode Summary
In this episode, we joined a group of local Dominican bikers for an epic off-road adventure in the heart of Hispaniola. With no gas, no helmets, and no insurance, we embarked on a journey filled with steep hills, dense jungle, bamboo forests, mango orchards, and stunning coastlines. We began by choosing our bikes from a group of old, battered motorcycles, all with their own unique problems – from bad brakes to leaking oil. With little more than our bravery and determination, we set out on our adventure. As we rode deeper into the Dominican wilderness, the terrain became increasingly challenging, forcing us to carry our bikes across streams, push them up steep inclines, and fix mechanical issues along the way. Our group’s camaraderie grew stronger as we all worked together to conquer the difficult trails and share in each other’s triumphs. After a long day of riding, we stopped at a local beach for a much-needed rest. As we sat in an ice-cold spring, rejuvenating our bodies after the rigorous ride, our starter failed once more, adding one last hurdle to our already challenging day. Despite this final setback, we pushed through and eventually made it back to our bikes. Our motorcycle adventure in the Dominican Republic with a group of local bikers was filled with both hardships and joys.
