[Ep 68] This Was Supposed to Be an Overnight Stop | Alcatraz Cove in Bahia de los Angeles

📍 Alcatraz Cove, Baja California Mexico🌊 Sea of Cortez, Mexico
The Last Voyage of SV Karuna: https://www.facebook.com/chris.ogg.31/posts/pfbid0df1uH2hyev5k29MAtCuXZ2uePgH4j2Kag2r4s1iPQQgyXC6Fu44X8qQPjW9c2jMAl
After arriving unexpectedly, we discovered crystal-clear water, incredible snorkeling, surprisingly good spearfishing, and a beautiful stretch of beach that Pinot quickly claimed as his own. With coyote tracks in the sand and not another soul around, it felt like we'd stumbled onto a hidden corner of the Sea of Cortez.
While exploring the shoreline, we hike the beach, collect a few treasures (and a little trash) for future projects aboard Cosmo, tackle some boat maintenance, and give an update on how our Coppercoat bottom paint is holding up after thousands of miles of cruising.
We also share a simple DIY snorkel mask repair that saved a perfectly good piece of gear from ending up in the trash.
What started as a stopover became one of those places that kept giving us reasons to stay just one more day.
⛵ In this episode:
• Alcatraz Cove, Sea of Cortez
• Spearfishing & snorkeling
• Beach exploration with Pinot
• Coyote sightings and tracks
• DIY snorkel mask repair
• Hull cleaning & Coppercoat update
• Life aboard Cosmo

We’re Liya, Armand, and Pinot, sailing full-time aboard Cosmo and sharing what life is really like out here…plans change, things go wrong, and somehow it always turns into a story.
