[Ep 56] No Wind, No Plan… And 18 Days Without A Store | Isla Partida, Mexico

Isla Partida (Middriff Islands), Baja California, Mexico

We left Isla Animas with a simple plan… sail to Bahía de los Ángeles and finally restock.
But the wind had other ideas.
After hours of drifting with our sails up and barely moving, it became clear we weren’t going to make it before sunset. What followed was a series of changing plans: from aiming for Animas Slot to ultimately diverting to Isla Partida in the Midriff Islands.
With no wind, no clear plan, and 18 days since our last proper provisioning, we had to make the most of what we had.
Between exploring, snorkeling, fishing, and a necessary trip up the mast to fix our mooring light, this is what boat life really looks like when things don’t go as planned.
And in the galley… things got creative.

⛵ In this episode:
Sailing the Midriff Islands
No wind and changing plans
Diverting to Isla Partida
Mast climb to fix a mooring light
Living aboard with limited provisions
Creative cooking at sea
Snorkeling, fishing, and exploring

We’re sailing and living aboard Cosmo, our 43-foot sailboat, exploring the remote anchorages of Baja and sharing what life is really like cruising Mexico.

👋 Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and follow our sailing adventures as we learn and grow as newbie sailors and explore the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez. Thanks for watching and sailing with us.
