Living in the wild has its ups and downs, while it is great fun foraging and catching your own food to survive on, it’s not so much fun when your freshwater is threatening to run dry. Join us this week as we take Nakama for a wild sail through the remote Kimberley, narrowly avoiding shipwreck once again due to the strong tidal flows hurling us powerlessly towards reef. Finding drinkable water is proving difficult.

Welcome aboard SV Nakama, We are Slim & Soph a young Aussie couple tryna get by living aboard our tiny retro sailboat with our cat Chilli. We sail the Australian coastline whilst attending university online and take you with us. After putting study on the back burner for years as we didn’t want to sacrifice adventure, we thought why not have both? Fed up with the outrageous rental prices in our hometown, the idea of doing it afloat came to mind. We figured we could scrape by on our tight student budget if we stopped paying way too much rent and lived minimally on the ocean, whilst continuing our passion for adventure. The plan for now, is to keep sailing onwards, keeping Australia to our left and once we're done doing that...Who knows. Our mission is to prove that anyone can do it, you don’t need the fanciest boat or a squillion bucks, just a whole lot of ambition and a willingness to make mistakes and learn.
