We have been making ourselves really at home here at Lizard Island. We could even say we have fallen into a bit of a routine, which as full-time cruisers, probably means we’ve been here for a little too long. We want to share with you our laundromat/ bathhouse, our office, which by night turns into our local bar, and our fitness and recreational facilities. It is hard to imagine leaving at this stage.

Slim & Soph - Sailing Nakama
Welcome aboard SV Nakama, We are Slim & Soph a young Aussie couple tryna get by living aboard our tiny retro sailboat with our cat Chilli. We sail the Australian coastline whilst attending university online and take you with us. After putting study on the back burner for years as we didn’t want to sacrifice adventure, we thought why not have both? Fed up with the outrageous rental prices in our hometown, the idea of doing it afloat came to mind. We figured we could scrape by on our tight student budget if we stopped paying way too much rent and lived minimally on the ocean, whilst continuing our passion for adventure. The plan for now, is to keep sailing onwards, keeping Australia to our left and once we're done doing that...Who knows. Our mission is to prove that anyone can do it, you don’t need the fanciest boat or a squillion bucks, just a whole lot of ambition and a willingness to make mistakes and learn.
