BRINGING A 1980'S SAILBOAT BACK TO LIFE | Where The F*&k Did We Go? Part 4

“She looks good, let’s hope she floats” – Slim

For those of you that missed us, becoming a Patron enables us to ensure the continuity of Slim & Soph – Sailing Nakama. We’ve gotta cover the bills somehow and this influenced our decision to take a break from editing in order to finance the repairs. A little goes a long way to keep this production alive. With very little free time between uni and the boat, Patreon enables us to focus on creating and posting videos rather than pouring beers at our local. Thank you for your generosity https://www.patreon.com/sailingnakama

It’s the morning after we put our first coat of antifoul on in the dark and we admire the semi-terrible job we did, never fear, we apply about 100 other coats to make up for it. We hope to Neptune that our sail drive boot we went to town on with Sikaflex doesn’t fall off and apply even more Sikaflex. Soph buffs the boat getting her cloudy Gelcoat back to a glistening pearly shine. The shipwright we ordered rocks up and makes the job we were terrified to do look like a piece of cake, however, we will soon find out whether Nakamas new holes in her hull will keep the saltwater on the outside. We’ve got more trades that have rocked up to help spruce Nakama, as she receives her first-ever dose of Propspeed. But she’s not ready to splash back in yet, make sure your prop is the right way around…But when we thought this chapter of our jobs was over, boy were we wrong.
