Someone once said sailors have weather-induced bi-polar.
As the winter season rolls in it’s hard to deny. Even having been in the Pacific Northwest winter and still trying to build this boat it doesn’t ease on the feeling now of wet and cold. It stinks. So! Instead of wallowing in it we take a few weeks away. I visit my brother in Boise, Idaho and then Garrett and I both see his dad and some friends on the Central Coast of California. We return and do our best to get back to boat work. Sometimes just housekeeping is in order! We get our bed back and then turn sights on some outside projects that might see the light next weather window!

Hello World Salt & Tar is a husband and wife duo determined to build a 35 foot custom George Buehler designed wooden gaff ketch sailboat; documenting their undertaking. Now, 5 years into the project, Garrett and Ruth have transported the boat to the San Francisco Bay Area. It began up a hill in Washington state. Equipped only with a 5000W generator, a few power tools, and resolution Rediviva has grown from a stack of lumber to a boat. Continuing the project in the Napa Valley Marina with better access to civilization and the ocean!
