Salt & Tar: Episode 75-Rally to Launch
It starts with an idea. Then you set the date. Then you stick to it! A deadline doesn’t care how many projects you still have to wrap up it’s approaching no matter what. This can be helpful, a gentle shove to get it done. Of course, if you’re absolutely not ready it’s not the end of the world but the minute you get that in your head the deadline no longer has the positive power to light the fire under your ass that you definitely need. We threw out Tuesday. Mainly the high wind forecast persuaded us to push back to Thursday but once Thursday was on the books with the marina that’s it. Hell or high water we’re launching that day. So buckle up buttercup because we’ve got a lot to complete before that day!

Hello World Salt & Tar is a husband and wife duo determined to build a 35 foot custom George Buehler designed wooden gaff ketch sailboat; documenting their undertaking. Now, 5 years into the project, Garrett and Ruth have transported the boat to the San Francisco Bay Area. It began up a hill in Washington state. Equipped only with a 5000W generator, a few power tools, and resolution Rediviva has grown from a stack of lumber to a boat. Continuing the project in the Napa Valley Marina with better access to civilization and the ocean!
