Salt & Tar: Episode 37 - The Bulwarks
October 05, 2018 by Salt & Tar | Language: EN Play Time: 00:19:40 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

We are getting closer to real time. This is the last of the redo projects! We are currently working on the sheathing, the episodes are about 2 months behind. Redoing the bulwarks was one of those projects you get mostly done and then realize you should probably wait until the boat is in the water to fully finish so nothing comes out funny. And we can plank from the dock. Our list is getting shorter for our pre-launch check. Our post-launch is still extensive but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it 😉
Two of the video clips were of the Dagmar Aaen. A super sexy Norwegian style cutter. Rediviva is not a cutter but a ketch and she too will have gaff rigged sails. Maybe even tanbark…if we’re lucky! Here are the links:

The Dagmar Aaen is also sheathed, in copper plating I believe, for the ice but also helps when in tropical areas for worm protection. We couldn’t do copper sheets because of our galvy fasteners so that’s why we are going wood.
More on all that though next episode 🙂
Thanks for watching!!!!
Much love,
Ruthie
