Salt & Tar: Ep.326- Out on a High
Since leaving Napa, California in 2022 we’ve only hauled out once. This time we owe it to Rediviva to be more thorough! She, the boat, has been so patient with us as we attempted to “recover” from the building process at the same time as returning to full time cruising… We got distracted and eventually need to take some time away to reroot ourselves. Garrett’s Dad’s health was also failing at that moment which made our decision to take a break that much more clear. Now we are back in action and feeling SO much better. We’re taking all the lessons we’ve learned and ready to get back on the proverbial horse. These next several months will be full of boatwork setting ourselves up for the next stretch of sailing and destinations!

Hello World Salt & Tar is a husband and wife duo determined to build a 35 foot custom George Buehler designed wooden gaff ketch sailboat; documenting their undertaking. Now, 5 years into the project, Garrett and Ruth have transported the boat to the San Francisco Bay Area. It began up a hill in Washington state. Equipped only with a 5000W generator, a few power tools, and resolution Rediviva has grown from a stack of lumber to a boat.
