Much longer than planned we are finally able to return to Rediviva. She’s been waiting in Mexico while we had to help family. We still need to sort out how to get back to cruising full time but it was extremely relieving to be aboard, even if only for a week. This episode covers the emotions of our reconnection and the rusty motions of filming and caring for our wooden boat… Next we get into the more ‘nuts and bolts’ operation of boat ownership and the toll of our absence.

Hello World Salt & Tar is a husband and wife duo determined to build a 35 foot custom George Buehler designed wooden gaff ketch sailboat; documenting their undertaking. Now, 5 years into the project, Garrett and Ruth have transported the boat to the San Francisco Bay Area. It began up a hill in Washington state. Equipped only with a 5000W generator, a few power tools, and resolution Rediviva has grown from a stack of lumber to a boat. Continuing the project in the Napa Valley Marina with better access to civilization and the ocean!
