—-again, the ratio’s depend on what kind of finish you want. Japan Drier is only a splash in the mix you’re working with, not what you’re going to store, to help it dry quicker. We don’t use too much varnish because we want the soup to soak into the wood. Play with it see what works for you. We just add into a gallon bucket so our mix is always changing.

Hello World Salt & Tar is a husband and wife duo determined to build a 35 foot custom George Buehler designed wooden gaff ketch sailboat; documenting their undertaking. Now, 5 years into the project, Garrett and Ruth have transported the boat to the San Francisco Bay Area. It began up a hill in Washington state. Equipped only with a 5000W generator, a few power tools, and resolution Rediviva has grown from a stack of lumber to a boat. Continuing the project in the Napa Valley Marina with better access to civilization and the ocean!
