How To Tension A Gaff Sailing Rig, Boat Re-Frame & GIFTS From Magic Carpet 2 – Sailor Barry & Hailly

In this week’s episode, your favorite sailors are on a road trip, looking for nautical treasures to spice up their boat and find two bronze hatches in the process. But when they stumble upon an amazing rigging kit at an antique mall, Barry takes you on a tour of all its bits, revealing how he’ll organize it into his ultimate maintenance kit.

Sailing Rig Tension: The Ultimate Guide

Once back on the boat, Barry demonstrates the process of tensioning a traditional gaff sailing rig. By applying extreme tension to a rope connected to a hard block and then lashing the ropes onto the rig securely, the rig becomes supremely more tensioned, enhancing its overall stability.

Boat Re-Frame Update

While Chad and Shelby’s boat undergoes an epic re-frame process, Barry updates viewers on their progress. The couple works tirelessly to create a seamless, secure, and robust structure for their beloved vessel using a combination of tar, epoxy, oakum, and linseed oil. Fastening on each new plank requires precise drilling and a mix of patience and skill.

Magic Carpet 2 Gifts

In a heartwarming moment, Sailor Barry and Hailly visit Magic Carpet, where they’re presented with amazing gifts from Aladino – a bunch of lamps for Thunderchild. With gratitude in his voice, Barry thanks the patrons who make this journey possible and assures everyone that the new lights are already installed on the boat, illuminating the dark corners and making their marine adventures more enjoyable.

The Journey Continues

From tensioning sailing rigs to re-framing boats and receiving unexpected gifts from friends, Sailor Barry and Hailly’s marine adventures never fail to entertain. Their dedication to maintaining their beloved vessels, along with the warmth they show towards their fellow boating enthusiasts, makes them a joy to follow on this journey across the world of watersports.
