A lot has happened since we took our mast down - what was supposed to be a simple job, of course turned into something more complicated. It was also compounded by Robi injuring his thumb and not being able to lead our project as easily.
But we plowed thro...
What a party! We take down the mast to tackle some repairs that were just too complex to make while it was standing.
We are also invited to sail with others here in San Francisco Bay on a variety of different boats.

Before heading to the boatyard, we move onto the new boat, and work on several projects, including the rigging and windows.
We also speak to a couple of fellow liveaboards here in Sausalito about life on the water and sailing boats.

We were generously given a new sailboat - but at first we weren't so sure it would be a good idea to get involved with such a project.
With a little bit of love however, she's beginning to look tidy and liveable. Join us on the refit adventure!

We finally get to take a look at the underside of Maiweh, and work on the hull, valve, and rudder. The squeeze is on for time and money, so the project lasts only about a week. After that, we're on to Vancouver and where Robi acquires a US visa before cros...
With wind and current in our favour for some odd reason, we race up the west coast of Vancouver Island, up around the top end, and down the Johnston Strait to Campbell River.

It's somewhat shell-shocking to leave the little town for the 'big' one. We also accomplish some work on Maiweh, although not necessarily the projects we originally planned for. And we get by with a little help from our viewer friends.

We get on the busy waters, let the spinnaker fly, release the small fry, fry up the fruits de mer, and tear down the old windows.

Enjoyment of the coming summer weather, and plans to tackle one of the main projects on Maiweh: getting a self-steering wind vane up and running. We also try out some new d.i.y. filming methods, and share more liveaboard cooking!

Take a look at some of the sweet gourmet cooking we do aboard our tiny vessel Maiweh, various portions hunted and gathered. Finally, a steady breeze and swell from the open ocean as we head west, out of the inlet!

We are forced to trade in our old outboard engine for a new used one, and we answer that age-old question, how do you raise the mast on a small C&C 24 sailboat? Also, we give you a tour of Maiweh's electronics, and reassemble the rigging to be able to ...
We reupholster our cushions cheaply, and try to keep the cost of sailing Maiweh low. However, the truth about boating is that things need to be fixed, and unplanned projects arise. Join us on our journey through our boating budget...

We continue our quest to replace the stays on our little boat, and take a semi-sunny day to go out, gather food.
