Terceira Island AZORES Portugal – Ep. 20
In this week of Sailing Zephyr we leave the Horta Marina in Faial and sail to the nearby island of Terceira. One of our most magical sails due to James and I spotting some Sperm Whales in the early morning shift change.
We arrive in Terceira and find a beautiful little anchorage just off the main beach in the city of Angra do Heroismo. This island is known for its festivities and food – The Party Island of the Azores. Like all the islands in the Azores, this one had so much to offer and we were excited to explore the botanical gardens, all the quaint little fishing villages and the museums. We also brave the cold waters of the Atlantic, James practices his Portuguese and we eat A LOT of good food.
