They form only over warm ocean waters near the equator where warm moist air rises, creating an area of low pressure. The NHC website is an essential resource for tracking hurricanes and their potential paths. Natalie and James have been closely monitoring the website daily since June, keeping a close eye on any developments or forming tropical depressions or storms.Researching Hurricane Holes
A hurricane hole is a safe anchorage for boats during a hurricane. Natalie and James have researched several hurricane holes in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Northern locations such as Oriental, North Carolina.
