Here is the latest episode full of adventure as we sail down Central America from Mexico to Costa Rica.
We hit a road block with the officials before we even set off! We have to forecast a light wind passage through the Gulf of Tehuantepec and the Papagayo winds while still having enough wind to sail the whole passage.
Then about half way through our passage… pirates!? Maybe?!
Or it could be fishermen setting lines that we could lay victim to in a few short hours. We must sail past Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua to get to Costa Rica and each section has its own challenges. The biggest challenge being the lines caught around our rudders and prop in the middle of the night requiring a night swim or two…
Not ideal! Safe to say we sometimes wonder why we choose to sail. Never-the-less, we manage each difficulty as it arrises and only get stronger and more resilient along the way.
