Sailing The Far Side
We are just two sisters living our legacy. Thirty-four years ago our father commissioned a 50’ 'Tradewinds pilot house, cutter, built in the Young Sun yard in Taiwan to fulfill a dream. He began sailing the South Pacific where he met our mom. His travels amounted to over a hundred-thousand sea miles. Having grown up around sailing an the many travel stories our parents shared, we dreamed for more as well. Our sailing passion began with sail camp on Lake Erie, and family trips on ‘The Far Side’ to the Keys and Cuba occasionally. As we grew older, school became a bigger priority, but our passion never faltered. Having both graduated with Bachelors degrees as varsity athletes and scholar students, we are still unfulfilled. Yes we are young but we are ready for the challenge! Join our travels as we learn more about cruising, our dad teaches us what it takes to maintain an old boat, and explore the wonders of the ocean!

Hello Everyone!
Due to corona virus restrictions we had to remain in Staniel Cay longer than we’d been planning, but absolutely no complaints! We most definitely made the best of our time there meeting the pigs (Nathalie’s favorite part of the entire trip), got the compressor working and went diving for our first time this trip, dove the grotto again (we are slightly obsessed with the Thunderball Grotto) and worked on a few boat projects.
COVID-19 UPDATE As of our time in Norman’s Cay:
Staniel Cay felt like a ghost town under lockdown restriction. We only went to shore for groceries and to take garbage to the garbage dump. Halfway through our second week the government retracted the 90 min exercise period so we were only able to go to shore for necessities. The yacht club restaurant was still open at this time as well to take-out and since we’d been anchored at the island for a while, the grocery clerks and restaurant workers all recognized us and were happy to see us, but new cruisers coming to the island everyone was weary about. At this time masks were also required to be worn around and towards the end of our second week we were not allowed to leave the boat, even to go for a swim or paddle around. At this time we decided to head back to the US. Watch our next video to watch our trip back to Florida.
