Designing our galley has been a loooong process, but it’s one of the parts of the boat that we absolutely wanted to get right, and that’s because the galley is just such an important part of every day life when we’re out sailing and cruising. Having a space that flows well when you’re hooning along in big seas and squalls on all sides of you is a non negotiable. And when you’re hosting dinner with new friends from the anchorage, you want the cooking to be fun too. Food is a huge part of everyone’s life, but when we’re out sailing we feel it even more so…life is stripped down to a much simpler existence when you’re anchored out in a remote atoll hundreds of miles away from civilization. Food, family time, and connection with nature replaces the flurry of distractions and non stop stressors of the “real world”. So after literal months upon months of planning, designing, sourcing materials and appliances, we finally get our first glimpse of our future galley in real life, and we are beyonnnnnd stoked!
