Ep30 To Portimao

We wake up on a windy morning-destination: Portimao. We lift the anchor in strong winds, with the crew pulling together we have no problems and are soon heading along the south coast of Portugal. Once in Portimao we find a spot to anchor behind the brake water on the east side of the river and then it is straight onto blowing up paddle boards and getting Rhumy in the water, which is becoming second nature for us now.
As we were relaxing on the back of the boat we were visited by a tender that had a crew of kids and parents which was great for us as we had been looking for boat kids from the time we had left Newcastle. we were soon immersed in each others stories and plans and the kids were having a blast together.
We were due to leave the next day but once we found out that the other families plans were to stay for a while we changed plans and decided to stay for longer.
It also was a perfect place to celebrate Claire’s birthday, so the girls and me set off with a mission to find a birthday cake. I thought it was going to be a hard thing to find but the restaurant on the beach front managed to get hold of one for us, so we booked a table at Escondidinho for the night of her birthday.
I hope Claire enjoyed herself but I don’t think anyone enjoyed them self as much as Bethany, who really let her hair down.
The next day it was an early start on to Ayamonte.
Special thanks to Escondidinho for a great night.
Make our day and subscribe.
