Ep26 To Nazare

The crew of Rhumor head further down the coast of Portugal l on a short thirty five nautical mile trip to Nazare. With the disadvantage of no wind to power Rhumor, we have the advantage that there will be chance of no waves as we are to go past the notorious Nazare point, renowned for its High waves- world known as Jaws.
The sea bed in this area is of a shape that funnels waves into the shore, creating massive waves that are used by very brave surfer’s, at a big risk to life.
As we get closer to the marina we see the point and are thankful that today Neptune is giving us an easy passage.
Once in the marina we find the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The next day we are off on a mission to the point that we had past the day before, with the promise of a McDonald’s near by, we are off up a steep step path that winds its way around the cliff.
On the way up we find lots of things to keep our mind of our sore seafarers weak legs. Once at the top we are welcomed by a small but beautiful town clinging to the cliff edge from here it is a short walk to the castle at the end of the point. we then go on a mission to find the famous fast food joint and after lunch it is back to the boat and getting her ready for tomorrows passage to Cascais.
In the morning we wake early and set of in fog hoping for another safe passage.
Thanks for watching from the crew of Rhumor.
