After a long patch of rough weather in the remote islands of the Tuamotus, the supply ship hasn’t docked for weeks and the fishermen have been rained off meanwhile. The presence of ciguatera poisoning riddling most of the fish in the atolls doesn’t help our case. Finding Avalon’s cupboards and bilges have never been more sparse.
We sail to a quaint little island called Toau which has a false pass, creating a perfect little anchorage. We pull out the speargun and shoot some rather obscure fish, which we accompany with hand picked fruits that we never knew existed.
What a hoot!
