Our friends Ben & Joyce came to visit for a short kiteboarding holiday on Finding Avalon. Slight hitch in that plan – the Kiteboards got lost on their flight. With only a couple of days left on their stay the luggage arrived and we raced over to Mooreea in search of wind. Well we found it! 25 knots of wind on our sail over there had us chuck in a couple of Reeves and we were all loving life.

The boys had a romantic sunset kite Sesh for two, whilst the girls were on photog duty. Don’t worry, we were rewarded for our sterling efforts. We’d herd speak of some resident rays – all the rays – sting, eagle and manta, hanging out somewhere nearby. So we went on to seek them out. Unfortunately we only found one of the aforementioned species, but man they made up for it. We did not bargain for how soppy these stingrays were going to be – all lining up for cuddles with us. Amazing up close and personal experience with these deadly creatures.
