All I see is BOOBIES: Boat life on a REMOTE Pacific Atoll ~ Vlog #67

Was this the most stupid or awesome thing we’ve ever done? We can’t decide.

On a 1200 Mile sailing passage from Tahiti to Niue, the weather swings and we have a tricky decision to make. We choose to divert our course to a remote atoll to the extreme West of French Polynesia. Maupihaa, otherwise known as Mopelia seems like a god place to hang out and wait for our weather window.

The entrance to the island is a narrow and intimidating pass with a strong current. We have no way of accessing the tide information so just have to chance it and hope the current isn’t too strong to overpower us. Scary stuff, guys. 

Diving on the anchor, we are visited by a shark, barracuda and eagle ray which tells us we’re probably going to like it here. Yup, we’re in for a treat. Between exploring the empty beaches and freediving the pass we are gobsmacked by the incredible nature this untouched island has to offer.
