Setting Sail from Miami to Nassau

At 3:26 a.m in No Name Harbor, Ayanna and Andre prepare for their crossing to Bimini. With southerly winds and a 10-hour journey ahead, they embark on their adventure, leaving the lights of Miami behind.

Night Sailing Thrills

As the night unfolds, Ayanna shares her excitement about night sailing. Cruising at five knots with a perfect breeze, they revel in the beauty of the starlit sky and the calm sea, anticipating the darker nights of the Bahamas.

Breathtaking Arrival in Bimini

After a smooth 10-hour sail, they arrive in Bimini, greeted by clear blue waters and a vibrant marine environment. Ayanna checks in while Andre watches over the boat in the shallow anchorage.

Straight to Nassau

Originally planning three 10-hour hops, Ayanna and Andre’s plans change as they decide to join friends on a non-stop 24-hour expedition to Nassau. The journey involves motor sailing, fishing, and the unexpected joy of catching a Spanish mackerel.

Underwater Adventures

As they navigate the Bahamas’ clear waters, the crew encounters Coral heads and engages in spearfishing. A surprise visit from a tiger shark adds a thrilling element to their underwater exploration.

Relaxing in the Bahamas

Upon arrival in Nassau, the crew reflects on their journey, from overcoming repairs to enjoying a full day of diving. Despite challenges, they feel relaxed, at peace, and ready for more adventures in the beautiful Bahamas.

Next Stops and Discoveries

With plans to explore the city and replenish supplies, Ayanna and Andre look forward to a day sail and grocery shopping. The article concludes with a description of their serene evening, enjoying fish, drinks, and relaxation with newfound friends.

The projects have finally ceased and adventure awaits! This week we get to reap the benefits of all the hard work we've put in as we set sail from Miami to the Bahamas.
