Hot and Taking Clothes Off Ep161

This boating trip has been a blend of mundane maintenance and delightful discoveries. Days were filled with the familiar rhythms of boat life: defrosting the refrigerator, scrubbing the cockpit, and facing the inevitable challenges of onboard repairs. A leaking generator pump added a layer of discomfort, especially in the cooler weather, but Steve installed a new pump which made it so we could run the heaters in the cooler weather.

The fuel tank woes, however, proved more serious. A hefty 170 gallons of fuel had to be removed, the tank thoroughly dried, and then refilled at an estimated cost of $660. While frustrating, this unexpected expense was a reminder of the inherent costs of boat ownership.

Yet, amidst the challenges, there were some nice moments like spotting gentle manatees is always a magical encounter. Evenings at the slip were spent savoring delicious meals at local restaurants. These experiences, however fleeting, served as a reminder that the true rewards of boating lie in the unexpected adventures and the simple pleasures of life on the water.
