A new week and another adventure here in Bocas del Toro. This week we explore Cayos Zapatillo, the islands where God stepped. The two islands, surrounded by coral, make up part of the Bastimentos National Park. Home to a ranger station that is there to protect the nesting sea turtles, these small islands are a true paradise and make for some spectacular snorkeling, beach exploring and provide a unique boardwalk through the heart of the second island. Local legend has it that this is the place where God stopped to walk on earth, which is why the islands are in the shape of his shoes. This is a must see stop in Bocas del Toro and one you will find yourself returning to again and again.
