Green Acres Chocolate Farm - Best Tour Ever Ep 73
Sailing Gargoyle
Welcome to our ongoing story of how two people are living their best lives as they sail the world. While this is a journey full of new places, adventures, cultures and people, it’s also about discovering ourselves. Lives are full of chapters but unlike a book, life doesn’t come with an index telling you what comes next. This journey is just that, a discovery of our next chapter in life. It’s a story of travel and lifestyle but also of an alternative way to live. Come along with us as we explore and let’s see what we can discover together.

This week we take a brief sail over to Dolphin Bay, where we spend an afternoon at anchor with a pod of playful dolphins. Then it is time to row the dinghy to shore to meet Gary Mitchell and Carlo Rios. They have owned the Green Acres Chocolate Farm for several years and are most excellent hosts. Notably, beyond the focus on chocolate, the farm is also a botanical garden highlighting the diversity of the jungle and dedicated to preservation of this scarce but essential resource. We have taken many tours over the course of our journey, but this certainly ranks as one of the best. Watch Gary’s TEDx presentation on the Almendro tree for the full story on how these two transplanted Californians are doing their part to save our planet.
