This week proves the axiom regarding the best laid plans as we have to abort our anchorage plan and find a chandlery to replace badly corroded chain. Luckily for us, Largs Yacht Haven proves to be the finest marine center we have yet to find in our 35,000 nautical miles of cruising. The onsite chandlery is able to order our new chain for quick delivery as well as supply us with much needed replacement parts for a variety of small but needed fixes. In addition, the sail loft has a full stock of stainless support fittings that we had expected to need to have custom manufactured. After the quick fixes are made, it is time for some heavy lifting as our new chain is delivered and we go through the entire process of removing the old and fitting the new in this episode. Come along as Gargoyle gets some much-needed boat jewelry.
