The first video of our summer sailing adventures to Desolation Sound in British Columbia, Canada. After a months of planning and prepping we finally untie the lines and set sail. First stop, the incredible Hornby Island, a boaters paradise!
We cross the Strait of Georgia for the first time from beautiful Tribune Bay on Hornby Island to the seaside village of Lund to stock up and start our adventure in Desolation Sound.
We sail from Lund to Tenedos Bay and spend a few days in this amazing anchorage with friends. Our luck runs out and we suffer a critical failure on Floating Freedom in Desolation Sound.
After our prop shaft sheared we were towed out of Tenedos Bay back to Lund to get repairs at Jack's Boat Yard. Not what we had planned for our first trip to Desolation Sound!
After getting an emergency haul out and repairs at the boatyard we get splashed back in the water and meet our buddy boat in the Copeland Islands. We then start our way home to wrap up our summer sailing trip.

The first video of our big trip to Desolation Sound for 2022, we get back to Smuggler Cove to explore and visit Ballet Bay for the first time. Conditions for sailing were great and we run into MV Makena Kai in Powell River.
The second video on our 2022 Desolation Sound trip, we spend a few days in the stunning Prideaux Haven, we buddy boat with MV Makena Kai and enjoy some of the best Margaritas this side of Mexico with Matt and Kelly.

The next stop on our Desolation Sound trip is Pendrell Sound between East and West Redonda Islands. This is our new favourite anchorage, the warmest and cleanest water we have found yet. Can't wait to return next year.
