Ep11 - Xmas on the boat
December 27, 2019 by Sailing Fair Isle | Language: EN Play Time: 00:00:16:06 | SAILING YOUTUBERS
This is our first Christmas on board as a cruising live-aboard. It’s also our first xmas in the warm, where you can go swimming in the sea on Christmas morning and have a BBQ in the afternoon.
There are over 50 cruisers celebrating xmas with us at YPC marina Cartagena. It’s a great atmosphere with a very international group of sailors.
We also take the chance to go on a road trip just before Xmas into the Sierra Nevada mountains just a short drive from the marina.
There are fantastic mountain walks and the magnificent Alhambra palace in Granada which was truly stunning.

SAUSAGE ROLLS
This is a recipe that celebrity cheif Nigel Barden came up with for BBC Radio 2 some years ago, it’s by far the best recipe for sausage rolls I’ve found. Everyone loves them!
Here’s the recipe, Judy did twice this amount in the film.
packet 320g rolled puff pastry + 1 egg for glazing
Filling:
400g sausage meat
1/2 red onion
1Tbl spoon olive oil
45g pistachios
25g dried cranberrys or goii berrys
1/2 tsb ground cinnamon,
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground sumac
salt & pepper
Finely chop the onions and softly fry in oil until caramelised. Mix all the ingredients together. Place on the rolled out pastry, roll and cut to required size. Glaze with beaten egg.
Cook at 200 degrees `C until golden.
