Who Won My Boat?
The boat drawing is complete — and we have a winner.
The drawing was done automatically, but the reserve was not met. As promised, that meant the winner would receive the partial cash equivalent of the funds raised rather than the boat itself.
Right after the drawing, I called the winner to let him know he’d won $53,000 cash. With his permission, I recorded that conversation and included it in this video so you can hear exactly how it went down.
During the call, we also discussed an option I wanted to offer him: since the raffle raised about half the boat’s value, I agreed to lower the price of the boat accordingly. If he chooses to purchase it, his out-of-pocket cost would be roughly half of what the boat would normally sell for. He’s currently talking it over with his wife.
