We Rounded America's Most Dangerous Cape! | Cape Hatteras

We’re taking on one of the most notorious stretches of water in the United States — Cape Hatteras!

After some last-minute maintenance and final preparations in Cape Charles, Virginia, we set off on a 230-mile, 33-hour offshore passage around Cape Hatteras, a place infamous for dangerous seas, unpredictable weather, and countless shipwrecks.

But we got lucky! The weather was almost TOO calm. With barely enough wind to fill our sails, we ended up motoring through one of the most feared stretches of coastline on the East Coast.

After 33 hours at sea, we finally arrive in Beaufort, North Carolina, where we tie up, stretch our legs, and let the dogs enjoy some much-needed time on land!

And stick around until the end for a sneak peek at what’s next — we’re hauling the boat out and putting her away for a while.
