This Is Why I Bought This Yacht
Day three of our shakedown cruise on my new yacht started anchored off Koh Larn, but we decided to sail about 15 miles west to the uninhabited island of Koh Phai.
This turned out to be exactly the kind of place I dreamed about when buying this boat — white sand beaches, beautiful clear water, the dogs running around on shore, and a peaceful anchorage all to ourselves.
After taking the pups to the beach, we headed back to the boat and inflated a huge floating island off the stern. The dogs, Olivia, and I spent the afternoon lounging in the water before taking the Highfield dinghy around the island to explore. We found a few makeshift beach lounge areas that looked like spots where tour operators bring guests during the day, but by the time we were there, the island felt completely empty.
To finish off the day, I cooked Olivia a steak dinner onboard — not a bad way to spend day three on the new yacht.
