My New Yacht Launch Almost Went Wrong
After years of waiting, delays, factory visits, road transport, crane lifts, final checks, and a whole lot of stress… my new Island Spirit 525e catamaran is finally going in the water!
This is one of the biggest moments of the entire build. Launching a brand-new yacht is exciting, but it is also extremely nerve-wracking. One wrong move with the travel lift, straps, rudders, keels, or hull could cause major damage before the boat even gets a chance to sail.
In this episode, we watch the final preparations, lift the boat, move her into position, and finally launch her for the first time. But just as everything is happening, we have to stop the process quickly when one of the lift straps gets caught near the rudder.
This is the moment I’ve been waiting years for… and it almost went wrong.
