In this episode of Sailing Doodles, we explore some of the most famous spots in Phang Nga Bay, Thailand. We begin in the floating village of Koh Panyi, where we hire a traditional Thai longtail boat and head through the mangroves and sea caves. Then we sail our boat to the famous James Bond Island, the filming location from The Man with the Golden Gun.
Later, we make our way to Ao Po, where I revisit the spot where my boat dragged anchor during a major storm years ago. I share that old footage and relive one of the more stressful moments I’ve had on the water.
This one has a little bit of everything: adventure, beautiful scenery, local culture, and a reminder that the sea can turn on you fast.
