Jeanneau 440 Boat Christening
Dave and Patricia christen their new Jeanneau 440 Cavu. They go thru the preparations they made for the ceremony and show an abbreviated toast. Patricia has three goals,
1: Don’t fall in
2: Break the bottle on the first attempt
3: Don’t damage the boat.
Toast for christening the ship
“For thousands of years, we have gone to sea. We have crafted vessels to carry us and we have called them by name. These ships will nurture and care for us through perilous seas, and so we affectionately call them “she.” To them we toast, and ask to celebrate Seas the Day.

“The moods of the sea are many, from tranquil to violent. We ask that this ship be given the strength to carry on. The keel is strong and she keeps out the pressures of the sea.”

“Today we come to name this lady CAVU and send her to sea to be cared for, and to care for DAVE AND PATRICIA. We ask the sailors of old and the mood of God that is the sea to accept CAVU as her name, to help her through her passages, and allow her to return with her crew safely.

Patricia and Dave purchased a new 2021 Jeanneau 440, now they have to learn to sail, downsize their life and outfit the boat for bigger adventures. Dave and Patricia head off to Corsica France to try out a trimaran. They have a Neel 43 for a week on the Mediterranean.
Two days living like pirates
We leave Jost Van Dyke and sail to Norman Island to party at Willy T's and attend the Pirate Party. The Pirate Party will be the last function of the BVI Jeanneau Renzdevou.
