Jeanneau 2024 Rendezvous: The Ultimate Sailing Adventure

The Jeanneau 2024 Rendezvous has kicked off with an exciting comparison between the new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 – Rhythm and Blues (a 2023 version) and Cavo, which is a 2021 model of the same. Join Patricia and Dave on this extraordinary voyage as they explore their respective boats in more detail.

The Sailors and Their Boats

Patricia and Dave have been learning the ins and outs of sailing since they took delivery of their brand new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 in April of 2021. They have outfitted and upgraded their boat with all necessary gear to live out their dreams of cruising.

The Differences Between Rhythm and Blues and Cavo

There are several differences between the two boats, with one of them being that Rhythm and Blues features a manual swim platform that is quite heavy. This presents an issue if you don’t have well-developed muscles!

Cockpit Comparisons

In the cockpit area, Rhythm and Blues opts for minimal electronics, no bow thruster, and a basic cockpit table that doesn’t fold down. However, it does have composite construction as opposed to teak, which is easier to maintain.

Salon Features

The salon on Rhythm and Blues includes white leather cockpit seats, a feature Patricia appreciates. Additionally, it boasts convertible combings on both sides. The factory installed bimini/dodger on Cavo extends all the way back but must be held up to use the convertibles.

Below Deck Comparisons

Beneath deck, there are still differences. For example, Cavo has a table and lights that Rhythm and Blues lacks, while Rhythm and Blues boasts a manual platform. There’s also a difference in winch buttons: two electric winches on the newer model versus none on the 2021 version.

The Engines

Cavo is outfitted with a Yanmar 57 hp engine, while Rhythm and Blues sports the smaller Yanmar 45 hp engine. Notably, Cavo has a factory-installed fridge, a nice touch for convenience during voyages.

The Galley

In the galley area, there are differences too. Cavo has a saltwater rinse and better-quality faucets than Rhythm and Blues. Furthermore, it includes a full freezer, which is especially useful for keeping meat fresh during charters.

The Nav Station

At the nav station on Cavo, you won’t find a clock or barometer. This oversight has been addressed for newer models like Rhythm and Blues.

A Touch of Class

Both boats have modern touches, such as stylish LED lights below deck that enhance the ambiance. Patricia appreciates the updated lighting on Cavo much more than what was available when they ordered their 2021 model.

Lovely Meals Aboard

The crew of Patricia and Dave maintain a healthy lifestyle while on board. On this particular occasion, they were able to find vegetables and prepare them in the form of grilled asparagus alongside fillet dishes.

The Rendezvous Continues

Following their time on Peter Island, the Jeanneau 2024 Rendezvous heads towards The Bitter End. With exciting events such as a pirate-themed party planned throughout the week, this promises to be one unforgettable sailing adventure!

Final Thoughts

The Jeanneau 2024 Rendezvous offers an unparalleled opportunity for sailors to explore new models, compare features and accessories, and experience a vibrant community of fellow boating enthusiasts. Be sure not to miss the next episodes where they will share their journey further into Virgin Gorda and The Bitter End Yacht Club.
