We almost didn’t bother with these.
Late in the season, we collected a handful of fallen acorns from the forest floor—fully expecting most of them to fail. Everything we’d read (and been told) suggested they wouldn’t sprout this late.
So we nearly threw them away.
Instead, we gave them a chance.

In this video, we try growing oak seedlings from late-collected acorns using a simple, low-effort approach—just to see what would happen. No special setup, no perfect conditions… just curiosity and a bit of patience.
The results genuinely surprised us.
