Our DIY Chinese Diesel Heater (Boat Installation)
December 17, 2020 by Sailing Cadoha | Language: EN Play Time: 00:29:53 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

Join us as we attempt our very own DIY installation of a ‘cheap’ Chinese diesel heater into our 1980’s sailing boat, which has never had any form of heating aboard. See how we get on, having never done anything like this before. THIS IS NOT A HOW TO VIDEO, it’s just a how we did it video, as always. 😁
***************** Handy Links For Our Chinese Diesel Heater Installation *****************
1) This is the heater we bought: https://amzn.to/2Zss5IF
2) We also bought lots of upgrades for the Chinese heater system, to make it more appropriate for a sailing boat installation, from a local company called MV Heating, which you can find here: https://mvheating.co.uk (they were super helpful).
3) Exhaust brackets came from a company called: https://www.britishpipeclamps.co.uk (they were a tad slow getting them to us, but when they did turn up, they seem like really good quality).

Backstory to the urgency of this diesel heater installation.
So Captain Carly got very ill recently, she came down with pneumonia and we can’t help think that living on a cold, damp sailing boat, in the middle of a British winter, likely had some part to play in that.
So this is our mission, to warm the boat up and make this space a comfortable and cosy little home once again. This is NOT a how tho video, this is simply a how we did it video and we will show you what modifications we made to make it (what we believe is) a suitable and safe diesel heater installation for our sailing boat.
