For the first time in months, Big Lost is finally ready.
The projects are finished. The boat is provisioned. Everything we’ve been working toward is complete. But instead of leaving Panama and beginning our Pacific crossing, we find ourselves doing something we didn’t expect…
Waiting.
Waiting for our kids’ visas.
Waiting for the right weather window.
Waiting for the moment we finally point the bow west.
Sitting at anchor gave us time to reflect on how far this journey has already taken our family. What began as a dream has turned into thousands of miles across the Atlantic, unforgettable friendships, and a childhood shaped by life at sea.
Crossing the Panama Canal marked a major turning point for our journey. The ocean, the weather patterns, the languages, the destinations—and even the boats around us—have begun to change.
